We sincerely thank Thomas Lund-Sørensen, Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine, for a substantive meeting during which we discussed key issues related to deepening bilateral economic cooperation and supporting Ukraine on its path towards the European Union.
Denmark is one of Ukraine’s closest partners, and we highly value its solidarity and comprehensive, consistent support for Ukraine in defense, reconstruction, business development, and European integration.
Particular attention was paid to the long-standing cooperation between the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FEU) and the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI), which has been ongoing since 2018 and has already delivered significant results for businesses in both Ukraine and Denmark.
In 2023, FEU and DI jointly established the Danish-Ukrainian Business Council (DUBC), which has become an effective platform for developing partnerships, implementing joint projects, and identifying new opportunities for companies in both countries.
Key results of this cooperation include:
- around 20 business delegations between Ukraine and Denmark;
- large-scale business forums;
- organization of Ukraine’s national stands at Agromek 2022 and Agromek 2024, as well as preparations for participation in Agromek 2026;
- the launch of the Ukrainian Shelf project in the COOP retail network in Denmark;
- numerous B2B meetings and matchmaking events.
We discussed the development of cooperation in the fields of defense industry, energy, Ukraine’s reconstruction, agriculture, and industrial cooperation, as well as support for Ukrainian companies seeking to enter the European Union market.
An important topic of the discussions was cooperation with EIFO, which already supports joint Ukrainian-Danish projects and has significant potential to expand financing for the private sector in Ukraine.
We also presented the results of joint analytical work on Ukraine’s integration into the EU, prepared by FEU and DI and presented to the European Commission and the European Parliament.
Another area of cooperation is the FEU Climate Platform, established with the support of Danish partners. The platform helps Ukrainian businesses adapt to European environmental requirements and new regulatory mechanisms, including CBAM.
At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed further steps for cooperation and identified promising areas for developing the Ukrainian-Danish economic partnership.
The Federation of Employers of Ukraine highly values its partnership with Denmark and is committed to further deepening economic, investment, and industrial cooperation between our countries.
